FAQs

Q?

DO THEY STILL USE FREON?

A.

The new hvac systems are an environmentally friendly refrigerant R410A (slang is freon), the not so friendly freon is R22 which production has cut back by %60 and in 2020 they completely stop producing it. Ordered by the EPA.

Q?

DO THEY STILL MAKE INEFFICIENT HEATING AND AC SYSTEMS?

A.

No they don’t. Even the bare minimum efficiency air conditioning systems they manufacturer are at least %40 more efficient than a 10+ year old system. There is a whole line up of super efficient systems that we install.

Q?

WHAT DOES SEER MEAN?

A.

SEER stands for seasonal energy efficiency ratio. This is a form of measurement of how high the efficiency is of and AC system, the higher the number, the more efficient it is. The minimum efficiency they make today is 13 SEER and goes as high as 21 SEER. Typical 10+ year old systems are 8-10 SEER, the difference from 8 SEER to 13 SEER is approximately %40 more efficient.

Q?

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL INSTALLATION TAKE TO INSTALL?

A.

Simple change out of your existing system to a new system takes 1 day. Additional ducting, zoning and new construction may take longer.
